This is a cloud based service provided by Microsoft which allows businesses to share documents and information with colleagues, partners and customers. It is also possible to migrate your existing locally based Access database to this Cloud service or indeed create a new database here if that is your requirement. With SharePoint Online you can deploy an organization wide intranet portal to disseminate information and news across your organization.
